About Nicole
Having grown up under the weight of the Bible Belt, Nicole’s stories address the issues of harmful dogmatism and injustice in her home state - a place long plagued by baseless hatred and questionable politics. Her goal is to shed light on the darker side of the so-called "Sunshine State."
Born and raised in Florida, Nicole understands the complexities of growing up in a conservative religious household. Her writing serves as both a form of healing for herself and a tribute to those victimized by ignorance and misplaced anger.
Despite always having a passion for writing, Nicole pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and worked as a Registered Dietitian for several years to create a more financially stable life for herself and her family. Seeking more fulfillment in life, she has returned to her passion for writing.
Nicole has been writing short stories and poems since the age of 12, and was always encouraged by her parents and teachers to pursue writing. She has chosen to use her grandmother's maiden name, Finaldi, as her pen name. This is a way for her to honor the matriarchs in her family who came before her and overcame immense challenges to pave the way for success.
